BCCX2 – Bledsoe County Correctional Complex (Pikeville, TN)
BCCX # 25 is scheduled for March 21, 2024, and will be led by Bobby Kite.
Scripture declares that God’s ways are not man’s ways (Isaiah 55:8); and after repeated Kairos Inside weekends at BCCX, we can honestly submit that man’s words are totally incapable of expressing the miraculous works of God. Over the life of these weekends, we have seen the recruitment and training of hundreds of volunteers for participation inside, and about a third as many volunteers for preparation and transportation of the of meals.
Kairos is “God’s Special Time”, and in the first 30 minutes of every Kairos weekend, it became totally obvious that God was in the house. Every weekend, the influence of the Holy Spirit and the response of the resident participants heightened earlier and earlier in the program timeline. There is no question that the word of mouth campaigning within the housing units, by former participants of the weekends, served to whet the appetites of each new class of participants; but honestly we have to believe that the “changed lives” within the compound have promoted a growing spiritual consciousness among the total population. Another scripture comes to mind, and it substantiates the dramatic difference between the experiences of the many man hours of team preparation, and the supernatural experience when God is in it (I Kings 19:11-12). And in the words of a popular song, “Little is much when God is in it”.
Men’s Kairos Inside at BCCX does not have a great history of years; but the faithful service of the Volunteer Community, and the trust and confidence in the program of Kairos that is continuously exhibited by the Warden, the Chaplain, and the entire administration and staff; as well as the increasing participation of the residents, validate the total history of Kairos, and the spiritual dedication of all of our Kairos forefathers. As we prepare for each new Kairos at BCCX, our greatest asset is the Advisory Council that directs and co-ordinates our activities and the truly ecumenical participation (a total of 12 denominations represented thus far).
