Team Members Prepare for Kairos Weekend at Bethany Baptist Church, Mountain City, Tennessee
The NECX Kairos Council in Mountain City, TN partners with the congregation of Bethany Baptist Church which provides sleeping accommodations, kitchens, storage space, set up assistance, prayers and other support for each weekend. Through the years, the Council and Bethany have formed a bond of Christian friendship that has been a blessing to all involved.
Off to a Good Tasting Start
The congregation at Bethany serves a delicious buffet on Wednesday night before the regular worship service. The team is their guests and there is always wonderful food and fellowship. This outreach by the Church is typical of the many things that Bethany does to support Kairos.
Wednesday Night Services
The Bethany congregation and the Kairos Team combine for Wednesday night worship. Singing and preaching is led by the Team. The service closes with a prayer time where the congregation and the team come together to share each other’s joys and concerns.

Team Formation Continues in the CircleHaving had meetings for 8 weeks prior to the weekend, the 40-man inside team puts the finishing touches on its program and is anxious to get started. Using the Kairos motto LISTEN, LISTEN, LOVE, LOVE, members of the team practice servant hood as modeled to them by Jesus Christ. |

What Would Jesus Do?
As a final act of servant hood, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. To show their love of Christ and their willingness to become servants, the Team often divides into pairs and washes each other’s feet.
The Bethany Kitchens are Staffed with Volunteers
The Kitchen Team uses the Bethany kitchens to provide a tasty menu for the residents, team members and other volunteers. Rising at 4:30 am and getting back to their rooms close to midnight, the Kitchen Crew works long and hard to provide culinary enjoyment for all who eat.
The NECX Kairos Council thanks God and the Bethany Baptist Church for the opportunity of serving Jesus through the residents on the weekend.
